Athletics stands as the central
pillar of any major games, representing sport at its purest
form. It has a long and proud history. Athletics is split
into two main disciplines: Track and Field events.
Track events are running races that take place on a 400m
outdoor track in the main stadium. These races provide lots
of excitement with lots of clever tactics.
Field events are throwing and jumping competitions that
usually take place inside the track requiring great
strength, speed and agility.
